Step into the shoes of a leader of one of the 7 great ancient cities! Gather resources, develop commercial routes, and establish military dominance. Build your city and construct an architectural wonder that will stand the test of time. The 7 Wonders game spans three ages. In each age, players get seven cards from a specific deck, pick one, and pass the rest to a neighboring player. Players reveal their cards at the same time, paying resources if required or collecting resources and interacting with others. Each player has an individual double - sided board with special powers to organize cards. The process repeats until players have six cards in play per age. After three ages, the game ends. This is a card development game. Some cards have instant effects, others offer bonuses later, and some give discounts on future purchases. There are also cards for military strength or just victory points. Since cards are played right after being drafted, you can keep track of your neighbor's choices. The cards are passed left - right - left over the three ages. Although the earlier edition box says it's for 3 - 7 players, there's an official 2 - player variant in the instructions.

How to play: First, each player becomes a leader of one of the 7 ancient cities. At the start of each age, you'll get seven cards from a deck. Choose one card and pass the rest to a neighbor. Reveal your chosen card and pay resources if needed or collect resources and interact with other players as the card indicates. Organize your cards on your double - sided individual board. Keep repeating this process until you have six cards in play for that age. After three ages, the game is over. Things to note: Pay attention to how your neighbors are playing because the cards are passed left - right - left over the ages. Their choices can affect your strategy. Also, remember that different cards have different effects, so plan your moves carefully. Maintenance advice: Keep the cards in a dry and clean place to prevent them from getting damaged. If you spill something on the cards, gently wipe them with a soft cloth.
