Product Information
Axis & Allies marks its 25th anniversary of strategic war gaming with this deluxe version of the original theater - level game. Designed and developed by Larry Harris, Axis & Allies Pacific 1940 uses the updated rules from the A&A Anniversary Edition. Two fresh combat units, Tactical Bombers and Mechanized Infantry, make their debut. The ANZAC forces, a combination of Australia and New Zealand, offer a new playable ally. China deploys more forces, but it needs support from the US and England to face Imperial Japan's expansion. The game features an oversized 35 - inch - wide by 32 - inch - high (89 x 81 cm) board. With over 450 pieces, deluxe components, and local storage boxes, it sets a new standard after the A&A Anniversary Edition. New rules for neutral nations, naval & air bases, kamikaze attacks, and convoy disruption add historical depth. This deluxe theater - level game can be combined with Axis & Allies Europe 1940 for the ultimate Axis & Allies experience. When joined, the boards measure 5 feet wide by 32 inches high (178 x 81 cm). Both games can be played alone or together for a 2 - 6 player global 1940 scenario with separate set - ups and national objectives.
To play Axis & Allies Pacific 1940, first, set up the oversized board. Place all the 450+ pieces according to the separate set - up instructions for each nation. Decide whether you'll play alone or with 1 - 5 other players for a global 1940 scenario. During the game, follow the updated rules, especially the new ones for neutral nations, naval and air bases, kamikaze attacks, and convoy disruption. When using the new combat units like Tactical Bombers and Mechanized Infantry, make sure to understand their unique abilities. If you're playing the combined game with Axis & Allies Europe 1940, connect the boards properly. Keep in mind that each nation has its own objectives. After the game, use the local storage boxes to store all the components neatly. To maintain the game, avoid exposing the board and pieces to direct sunlight for long periods, as it may fade the colors. Also, handle the pieces gently to prevent any breakage.
