The city of York is under construction. Many buildings are up, but without a protective outer wall to fend off Viking raids, it's doomed. The king has gathered top architects to design defensive walls, and only one design will be chosen. That architect will be the greatest in the land. In this game, players use plastic wall pieces to build a defensive barrier around the buildings on their city map. Each turn, roll the Building die to decide which walls to use. Enclose your city as per the King's Decree. But watch out, the Vikings will attack at the end of the first Age, forcing a rebuild in the second. The player with the most coins at the end of the second Age wins.

To play this game, first set up the city map and give each player the plastic wall pieces. On your turn, roll the Building die to figure out what type of walls you should use. Then, start building the defensive barrier around the buildings on your map, making sure to enclose the required buildings as stated in the King's Decree. Remember, the Vikings will come at the end of the first Age and destroy parts of your city, so you'll have to start building again in the second Age. Try to earn as many coins as possible throughout the game. When it comes to maintenance, keep the plastic wall pieces in a dry and clean place to prevent damage. Avoid bending or breaking the pieces. If the dice get dirty, you can gently wash them with mild soap and water and let them dry completely before using them again.
